To put it simply TiVo is one enormous hard-drive, or digital video recorder (DVR), that sits on your television and records your favorite TV shows. Finally there is a rating system that most DVR’s employ. This is where you the viewer can tell TiVo what you like and what you don’t like. It is a very easy system to learn as it employs a “thumbs-up; or “thumbs down” approach. This actually goes on to determine what programs your DVR will record for you should you allow it to. This is very similar to what a companies like Netflix and Amazon.com do for their customers.
